GCM’s Indian Community Celebrates their 78th Independence Day
To honor their country’s 78th independence day anniversary, the Indian community of the school gathered early around the campus as one family hoisting their colors and singing their national anthem to honor the gaining of independence of their country.
After the raising of the flag, the institution’s Deputy Chief Executive Consultant Ms. Kathreena Pillai gave a short message with the quote:
This was then followed by Indian Student Mr. Uday Prasenkumar Godase presenting his “Poem of Freedom” while telling his fellow students stories about how Indian nationalists fought hard to gain independence from colonial rule in his heartfelt speech.
Closing remarks were then led by Dr. Sumiya Fanlo followed by the presentation of an Indian Independence day Plaque by Mr. Prasankumar to Ms. Kathreena Pillai officially ending the short ceremony
