Gullas College of Medicine proudly congratulates its student researchers Jeanifer Macasilig, Louie Valencia, Xymeerenz Tati, and Sitty Tasniema Hadi Ali for securing 4th Runner-Up in the Regional Medical Student Research – Basic Category during the 14th APMC-SN Visayas Regional Assembly, organized by the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges (APMC).
The award-winning study, entitled “Anti-Hypercholesterolemic Effect of Cat Whiskers (Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume) Miq.) Plant Extract in Diet-Induced Hypercholesterolemic Albino Mice,” showcased the team’s strong grasp of research methodology, scientific rigor, and evidence-based analysis. Competing alongside medical students from institutions across the Visayas region, the GCM team distinguished themselves through the relevance and potential clinical significance of their work.
