Gullas College of Medicine (GCM) warmly welcomed the Foundation University College of Nursing from Dumaguete City for an educational campus visit on November 12, 2025. The visit provided nursing students the opportunity to explore GCM’s modern learning environment and gain meaningful insight into the path toward becoming a physician.
Warm Welcome and Opening Program

Upon arrival, the delegation was received by the Office of the Dean, Admissions Department, and Safety and Security Department, who escorted them to the GCM Auditorium. The program opened with welcoming remarks from Dr. Jose Rafael Laico, Dean of Gullas College of Medicine, who expressed GCM’s commitment to inspiring future healthcare professionals and fostering partnerships with academic institutions across the region.
Comprehensive Campus Tour

Guests enjoyed a guided tour showcasing GCM’s key academic facilities including:
Histology Laboratory – featuring the fundamentals of tissue study and microscopy.
Library – home to extensive medical references, journals, and digital learning tools.
Anatomy Laboratory & Anatomage Theatre – highlighting GCM’s advanced virtual dissection technology.
Clinical Skills Laboratory – demonstrating simulation-based training used in developing hands-on clinical competencies.

The tour allowed visitors to observe first-hand how GCM integrates modern technology and experiential learning to prepare students for the rigor of medical training. It was led by Dr. Sonny Redula, MEU Head, Department of Informatics & Analytics, Dr. Sumiya Fanlo, Chairman of the Department of Ethics & Legal Medicine, and Dr. Samantha Tan, Head of Marketing & Admissions.
A Talk That Resonated With Every Nursing Student

One of the highlights of the visit was the talk delivered by Dr. Kitty Redula, Associate Dean for Operations, titled “Why Become a Doctor?”. Her message was especially meaningful to the nursing students, as Dr. Redula herself began her career as a nurse, worked in the United States, and later pursued medicine. She is now further advancing her education as she studies to become a lawyer.
Her story of dedication, lifelong learning, and service to humanity deeply resonated with the audience—serving as an inspiring testament that one’s professional journey can continue to evolve with passion and purpose.
The program continued with an overview of GCM’s Discounts and Scholarship Opportunities, followed by a Q&A session where students asked about admissions, pathways from nursing to medicine, and life at GCM.
A Grateful Exchange

To formally commemorate the visit, GCM awarded a Certificate of Visit to Foundation University. A photo opportunity concluded the program, capturing the shared commitment of both institutions to developing future healthcare leaders.
