The Gullas College of Medicine, Inc. celebrated a historic academic milestone as it held its 45th Commencement Exercises for Batch Fornix 2025 at the prestigious Waterfront Cebu City Hotel on July 23, 2025. The occasion was made even more meaningful by the distinguished presence of His Excellency Shri Harsh Kumar Jain, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Philippines.

His Excellency was warmly received by Dr. David K. Pillai, Chief Executive Consultant of GCM, and was welcomed with the highest honors as he joined the leadership, faculty, families, and graduates in recognizing the achievements of a resilient and diverse graduating class.

In his keynote address, Ambassador Jain delivered an inspiring message that resonated deeply with graduates and guests alike. Speaking with warmth and dignity, he acknowledged the long and challenging road the students had walked to reach this momentous day:

"This day is an extraordinary occasion for students of the graduating class. It not only marks the culmination of years of relentless perseverance, unwavering commitment, and tireless effort of each of these students, but also the beginning of a new journey filled with boundless opportunities and responsibilities."

He continued by recognizing the emotional and academic journey of the graduates:

"Dear students, today we celebrate not only your academic success but also the resilience, sacrifice, and indomitable spirit that have brought each one of you to this defining moment. You have endured rigorous training and demanding challenges which have made you stronger, wiser, and ready to accept the responsibilities that lie ahead."

"I commend your hard work and the sacrifices that you have made in pursuit of obtaining the required education and training that leads you to the path of one of the most noble professions—that of a physician."

His message served as both a tribute and a call to action—reminding the graduates that the white coat is not merely a symbol of academic success, but of duty, honor, and compassion in service to humanity.

Ambassador Jain’s presence served as a powerful affirmation of the growing partnership between the Philippines and India in the field of medical education. With a significant portion of the graduating batch composed of Indian nationals, his words struck a chord not only with the students but also with their families watching with pride.

GCM is deeply honored to have welcomed His Excellency Shri Harsh Kumar Jain to this important academic celebration. His speech and presence added great prestige to the occasion, and further strengthened the bond between the institution and the Indian student community it proudly serves.
