Last October 20, 2025, the Gullas College of Medicine, Inc. (GCM), through the Supreme Student Council<\/strong>, illuminated the campus with a vibrant celebration of Diwali \u2014 the Festival of Lights<\/strong>. Filled with joy, color, and cultural richness, the event brought together students, faculty, and staff in a heartwarming display of community and diversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Celebration of Light and Culture<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The program began with a traditional Pooja Ceremony<\/strong>, symbolizing hope, enlightenment, and the triumph of light over darkness. This was followed by opening messages from Dr. Jose Juan Rafael G. Laico and performances that set a festive tone for the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the morning, cultural performances and heartfelt messages from student leaders and faculty emphasized the importance of unity amidst diversity \u2014 a hallmark of the GCM community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flavors, Festivities, and Fun<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

By midday, the celebration transitioned to a lively outdoor atmosphere with food and item stalls<\/strong> prepared by various student organizations. The courtyard buzzed with laughter, music, and the aroma of festive delicacies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    These activities\u2014organized by the Hosts and SSC Working Committee\u2014brought friendly competition and camaraderie to the event, with winners receiving small prizes and well-earned applause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the afternoon, the Diwali performers showcased the best of Indian music, dance, and artistry through two performance segments. Each presentation highlighted the festival\u2019s message of joy, resilience, and togetherness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Outstanding students and contributors were recognized during the Prize Distribution Ceremony<\/strong>, expressing appreciation for the creativity, effort, and teamwork poured into the celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Tradition, Reflection, and a Radiant Finale<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    As the sun began to set, the SSC Working Committee led the Maha Aarti<\/strong>, where students and faculty came together in a solemn moment of prayer and gratitude. This was followed by a Festive Community Dance<\/strong>, where everyone\u2014regardless of nationality or background\u2014joined in celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The program ended with closing remarks from Mr. Karl Kelvin D. Opsima<\/strong>, followed by a breathtaking fireworks display<\/strong>, lighting up the night sky and symbolizing hope, new beginnings, and unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Gratitude and Collaboration<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The success of this event was made possible with the support of the Student Affairs and Services Center and International Students Unit (SASC-ISU)<\/strong> led by Dr. Mila Maruya<\/strong>, and the All-Stars Culture and Arts \u2013 GCM<\/strong>. Their collaboration, along with the dedication of the SSC, truly embodied GCM\u2019s commitment to #TheFinestTrainingForTheHighestCalling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
