Gullas College of Medicine (GCM) translates into action its value on social responsibility by supporting government vaccination program.
Employees and medical clerks of GCM participated in the RESBAKUNA program of the Department of Health (DOH), which is the provision of free and effective quality vaccines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 virus.
The clerks volunteered in the RESBAKUNA vaccination sites in Cebu and Mandaue City, namely: University of Cebu – Banilad Campus; Robinsons Galleria; Compostela Rural Health Unit; University of Cebu – Urgello and Lapu-Lapu Mandaue campuses; SM Seaside, Robinsons Galleria; Mandaue City Sports Complex; Pacific Mall; and IEC Convention Center Cebu (IC3).
Initiated by the Dean, Dr. Niño Ismael S. Pastor, and the Chief of Clinics and School Physician, Dr. Leticia F. Abinuman, the clerks were able to volunteer in this program.
For the side of the employees they submitted themselves to be vaccinated as a form of support to the RESBAKUNA. Ms. Jesiel Ann Cabag, GCM’s Student Affairs and Services Center Specialist said, “We are very grateful for the opportunity because, aside from it’s free, this would protect us and also our loved ones from getting infected by the global virus. This would also be start of our healing. We will heal as one.”
