Newly acquired microscopes arrive at GCM, expected to enhance the school’s laboratories.
New microscopes had been unboxed and tested at GCM’s skills laboratory, June 2021. The new microscope set is expected to be displayed next school year and should be utilized once flexible and blended learning program has been in full force.
The microscope’s head has a 9.7” HD diagonal IPS LCD Display, and a high resolution of 1024×768. The display features a Five Point Touch Screen for a more responsive experience. It also features a Trinocular head and a body that inclines as much as 30 degrees, an inter-pupillary distance of 48-75mm and an adjustable eyepiece tube diopter. Its eyepiece features a WF10x/20mm lenses and a coaxial coarse and fine adjustment focus system. The stage is a graphite surface with a moving range of 75mm x 50mm and a double layer mechanical stage.
The microscope also features a 5 megapixel digital camera with a maximum of 30 frames per second to ensure that what you are seeing on the eyepiece is accurate on the LCD display. The CPU supports Android OS with a 1.8GHz Quad Core RK328. It has a capacity of 8 GB and a RAM of 2 GB that supports DDR3, DDR2, and LPDDR2. It has expandable data storage of up to 32 GB.
All in all, this is a state-of-art device that is not just functional but also up to date.
